MTL Blog has confirmed that prisoners in Quebec's detention centres will be getting vaccinated alongside prison guards and other high-risk detention centre workers.

On April 7, Dr. Horacio Arruda confirmed that teachers, police officers, detention centre workers, and other workers in high-risk environments will be able to get vaccinated soon.

"Detention centre staff, as well as incarcerated individuals, will soon be able to take advantage of the vaccination," confirmed the MSSS in an email.

In Montreal, detention centre workers and the incarcerated are already able to register to get their first dose. "Vaccination will be offered on-site for those incarcerated," stated the ministry.

In federal penitentiaries, the vaccination of incarcerated individuals is the responsibility of the federal government.
