Montreal festivals are off to a rocky start after major artists set to headline events across the city continue to cancel at the last minute — with Rick Ross being the latest to snub his Montreal fans.

Grand Prix fans know the feeling all too well after Pitbull, who was headlining the Podium Concert series, cancelled his appearance minutes before he was expected on stage.

Well, it seems as if Pitbull isn't the only one to pull the plug on the 514. Rapper Rick Ross, who was set to headline the MURAL Festival Sainthood's Block Party on June 15, cancelled his appearance the day of.

Rick Ross was expected to take over Bassin Peel Stage alongside artists Jahsh, Shaq France, Rowjay and Shrimp Tempura, to name a few. However, the rapper was a no show — claiming he couldn't make it for "personal reasons."

MURAL broke the news hours before the block party was set to begin, stating that "Rick Ross has made the decision to cancel his performance at the festival."

Fans who purchased daily tickets for the Rick Ross performance will be issued a full refund, MURAL said. Those with a weekend festival pass will be given a partial refund.

"We are sorry for the situation, which is beyond our control." The festival organizers allowed the show to go on sans Ross and made it free to enter.

Despite MURAL doing the best they could under short notice, fans weren't happy, and rightfully so — especially considering Rick Ross performed in Nashville, Tennessee the same night he was meant to be in Montreal.

Yup, that's right. Despite cancelling his Montreal show for "personal reasons," Ross flew down to Nashville for a "private event," per his Instagram Stories.

Ticketholders were quick to take to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts, and it's safe to say many fans are…confused.
