Krispy Kreme is rolling out holiday treats as sweet and quirky as Buddy the Elf's love for maple syrup. The donut chain is infusing a dash of movie magic into its latest creations, celebrating 20 years of the Christmas movie that taught us the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup.

If Buddy wandered into a Krispy Kreme kitchen, the result would probably be this zany lineup. First up, the "Buddy Snow Globe" is an original glazed ring dipped in sugar cookie light blue cream. The powdered sweet snow and chocolate Elf piece are the icing on the… donut.

The "Buddy Makes Breakfast" is a donut that thinks it's spaghetti. Topped with cake batter spaghetti butter creme, colourful candies, and a drizzle of maple syrup, it's a nod to Buddy's unique culinary skills.

To celebrate its 70th year serving French pastries, Montreal bakery and restaurant Duc de Lorraine has introduced two new gourmet donut creations: a crème brûlée donut and a chocolate-filled "cronut," or croissant-donut hybrid.

Both donuts have been featured in videos by Duc de Lorraine on social media, where the crispy layers of pastry and luxuriously thick fillings are making Montrealers salivate across the city. The restaurant designed its chocolate-filled donut, called "le Beignet Royal," based on New York-style cronuts, but with a creamy cocoa twist.

First, they turned your donuts into a different dessert. Now, they’re turning your dessert back into donuts. Tim Hortons is introducing three new Dream Donuts, taking inspiration from three popular Canadian sweets. The new flavour lineup now includes Birthday Cake Confetti, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake, and S’mores.

"We wanted to come up with a fresh, new lineup of premium Dream Donuts that look incredible and taste even better, and we got our inspiration from some of Canadians' favourite desserts," said Director of Culinary Innovation at Tim Hortons, Tallis Voakes, in a press release.
