In a press conference on Friday, Health Minister Christian Dubé asked all Quebecers "to limit our contacts [...] for the next 28 days." He explained Thursday that the measure could "break" the second wave of COVID-19 in Quebec. He added the 28-day stipulation, he said, to "encourage people to understand that, yes, this is an additional effort, but there can be an end" to it.

"It's for one month. It's not permanent," he reiterated.
