Imagine discovering you've just become a multi-millionaire…while at work? Well, that was literally the case for Patsy Lefebvre — who discovered she had just won a whopping $2,000,000 playing Québec 49 during a work meeting.

The Lanaudière resident had pocketed $20 playing on the Loto-Québec website and used it to play Double Jeu 49, opting for a quick-pick selection. Loto-Québec said that Lefebvre had a feeling this moment would be special, telling her spouse "This time, I hope the amount I win has more zeros!” Luckily for Lefebvre, her seven-figure windfall has six of 'em.

The tradition of giving specific gifts for each anniversary milestone remains a meaningful way for couples to celebrate and commemorate their enduring love and commitment over the years. For a Montreal couple celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, silver would have been the symbolic material. However, rather than a shiny pair of cuff links or piece of jewellery — or perhaps in addition to these things — this couple received a million dollars.

Stéphane Vienneau and Maegan Judd of Montreal got the surprise of a lifetime after winning the Maxmillions prize of $1 million from the July 21 Lotto Max draw. Many of us dream of a day when we'll win the big bucks and be given a massive cheque for $1,000,000 and for Vienneau and Judd, that day came just in time for their wedding anniversary.

If an extra grand in income is a wonderful surprise, one thousand extra grands is nearly unimaginable. So it makes sense that Outaouais resident Vivian Donovan Nezan assumed she'd won just one thousand dollars in her Lotto Max Maxmillions draw.

But she was very, very mistaken, in the best possible way. Nezan, checking her ticket using the Lotteries app, realized she'd actually won an entire million in Canadian dollars in her May 30 Lotto Max draw.

Talk about a lottery win that keeps on giving! In a stroke of sheer luck, an Outaouais resident has defied the odds and secured a financial future that many of us can only dream of. François Lajoie won $25,000 a year for life following the Grande Vie April 27 draw and decided to opt for the lump sum of $500,000.

Loto-Québec shared in a press release that Lajoie had purchased his Grande Vie ticket from a grocery store on a whim. His winning numbers? His loved ones' birthdays. The morning of the draw, Lajoie had checked online to verify which Canadian regions the winners were from. Loto-Québec said that Lajoie found out a Quebec player had won 5/5 numbers, still not knowing it was him.

When it comes to claiming a million-dollar prize, most people might settle for an Uber or a taxi to pick up their winnings, but one Quebec man had much fancier plans. Marco Poirier, who won the million-dollar grand prize playing Extra, went all out and arrived in a limo, proving that when you're rolling in dough, you might as well roll in style, too.

Poirier, who hails from the Lanaudière region of Quebec, took home a whopping $1,000,000 in the March 15 Extra draw. Loto-Québec said that Poirier had originally forgotten to purchase his ticket at his usual retail location on the way home from work, so he decided to buy one on the crown corporation's website instead – a decision that ultimately made him one million dollars richer.

After winning $32 million in Lotto Max's big payout, Liliane Synotte Deschênes turned to her loved ones to spread the windfall. But first, she bought herself a new house and a new car, fulfilling the dreams she told Loto-Québec about upon receiving her payout.

But rather than feeling seen by her close relatives and friends, Deschênes told the Journal de Montreal that she feels underappreciated to the point that she wishes she hadn't leapt to share her jackpot.

It was one heck of a lucky day for 12 co-workers who just took home a collective $1 million after winning one of the 14 Quebec Max jackpots.

Loto-Québec said that the co-workers —11 of whom are from the Mauricie region of Quebec, and one from Centre-du-Québec — have only been playing the lottery together as a group for "a few months," and it's likely they won't want to step playing just yet after winning a million dollars in the March 17 Quebec Max draw.

A couple from Quebec is revelling over their recent lottery win of $1,000 a week for life. Gilles Lavoie and Céline Labelle from Montérégie got the surprise of a lifetime when they took home the Gagnant à Vie top prize and decided to accept a lump sum of $1,000,000 associated with the annuity of $1,000 a week for life.

According to Loto-Quebec, the couple was "emotional," when they visited the crown corporation head office. "I couldn’t have asked for more. I’m so grateful,” said Lavoie.

A group of 10 co-workers at the Fondrémy foundry in Chambly won $2 million with a Quebec 49 Formula ticket purchased for the February 25, 2023 draw.

Matthieu Côté, one of the winning members, said he had forgotten to purchase the tickets locally — so he decided to grab one on the road while he was out of town, Loto-Québec said.

Winning the lottery is a life-changing event, so much so that many of us often wish we could become millionaires, quit our jobs, jet set across the globe and eat at the finest of restaurants. Well, that doesn't seem to be the case for one Quebec man who won $2 million and plans on keeping his lifestyle as is.

Benoit Gravelle from Outaouais won the $2 million lottery jackpot following the Double Jeu 49 draw on January 7, 2023. The ticket let Gravelle play both the Lotto 6/49 and Québec 49, with Extra — and it seems as if luck was in his favour, considering he took home the grand prize.

What would you do if you won $1,000,000 in the lotto? It's a question we often ask ourselves and each other, dreaming big or thinking practically, but the hypothetical became a reality for one lucky ex-Montrealer this month.

Denis Gaspar took home a cool million from his Lotto 6/49 white ball win on February 11, 2023. His partner was the one to discover the win when she took the golden ticket to a local grocery store.
