It's time to ditch the popcorn and grab a controller. Nintendo Canada is redefining the drive-in movie experience near Montreal this summer. The creators of the Nintendo Switch are firing up a double-feature extravaganza about 90 minutes from the city that combines the nostalgia of classic video games with the old-fashioned charm of open-air cinema.

Rather than the usual chatter of cicadas, the evening air will echo with the familiar jingles of the magic Mushroom Kingdom. A screening of the Super Mario Bros. movie will set the stage for the night, letting veteran gamers reminisce about their first Princess Peach rescue and those just starting out on their Nintendo journey can find out which question blocks give the best rewards.

Have you ever wished you could play Mario Kart in real life? Combat d'Archers in Montreal has a Mario Kart game that gives new meaning to the phrase, "pick your player" because this time, you'll actually get to race as that player.

The quick karts even allow you to drift and do 360-degree spins. Plus, Combat d'Archers provides each player with up to two Mario Kart-inspired items (a foam shell, banana or star) that they can use during the game to "attack" other players and defend themselves during the race — all while music inspired by the game plays in the background.
