A man in his forties was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Montreal on Friday night. The incident occurred at the intersection of rue Berri and boulevard de Maisonneuve around 6:00 p.m.

The Montreal police (SPVM) said the car was travelling northbound on rue Berri and struck the pedestrian after he attempted to cross the street without priority — not giving the vehicle enough time to break.

Montreal police (SPVM) say a 28-year-old man was shot Friday night in the city's Ville Saint-Laurent borough, marking Montreal's 41st homicide of 2022.

SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said the man succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital with at least one bullet wound to his upper body.

Just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, a child was struck and "seriously injured" in a hit-and-run near the intersection of rue Parthenais and rue de Rouen in the Ville-Marie borough, according to SPVM media spokesperson Julien Lévesque. The minor, a pedestrian, was quickly taken to the hospital in critical condition. Further info on the child's condition has not yet been disclosed.

Investigators are currently working to determine more about the incident, including by speaking to witnesses at the scene.

A 53-foot truck struck and killed a pedestrian in her thirties early this morning, according to Jean-Pierre Brabant, an SPVM spokesperson. The collision took place near the Place du Commerce on ÃŽle-des-Soeurs at around 7:15 a.m., Brabant confirmed.

According to testimony from multiple witnesses, the truck was going south when it hit a woman crossing the street near the shopping centre. The driver "could not avoid" the pedestrian, Brabant said, and she was ultimately declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

Two cars were involved in a collision that killed one driver and sent the other to the hospital on December 3, according to SPVM media spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant. The crash took place in the Rivière-des-Prairies neighbourhood at around 10:45 p.m.

The hospitalized driver, a 19-year-old man, is not currently in critical condition, and there is no concern for his life at this time, per Brabant. The other driver, still unidentified, died immediately in the crash.
