Environment Canada has quietly debuted a new weather alert map that displays active advisories, watches and warnings. Unlike the old map, a still, white image with provincial and regional boundaries in black, the new map is interactive, allowing users to zoom in on their area, identify individual towns, cities and major roadways, and click on colour-coded alerts to view important weather information.

The map is years in the making.

The summer season is officially upon us, and while we got some pretty decent spring days, it looks as if we're off to a wet start.

The Quebec weather forecast for June is calling for quite a bit of rain and it appears as if things are starting sooner than expected. Montreal is set to be hit with a risk of a thunderstorm Friday, May 27 and will be seeing a steady amount of rainfall on Saturday, May 28.

The Montreal weather has certainly been doing us good the last few days, but lest we forget it was only a few weeks ago Montreal was hit with 15 centimetres of snow! Ugh, remember that?

Well, at least May weather is looking up and we mean up. As spring temperatures finally start to climb into the 20-degree Celsius range, the city will be hit with quite a lot of heat and humidity next week.
