A new, interactive online map allows Montrealers to self-report their interactions with the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) during police stops in Montreal.

The STOPMTL map was created by a team of researchers at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), McGill University, Concordia University and University College London. According to a news release by INRS, the project aims to gather crowdsourced data on police stops in Montreal in an effort to fill gaps in existing data.

Last week, Montreal's police service (SPVM) arrested a man who they say stole two packages left at the doors of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve area homes.

The SPVM said in a news release that catching the thief red-handed was lucky, as officers from the neighborhood's Module d’action project were already on the scene, observing the suspect as the thefts happened.

Two Quebecers — a retired couple from Chaudière-Appalaches — are $14,061,516 richer after winning the Lotto 6/49 jackpot on November 18.

Alice Vien and Marcel Landry purchased their winning ticket from a grocery store in Lévis and claimed their price at Quebec City's Loto-Québec office, according to a press release.  

Vien said she had been buying tickets using the same numbers for years.

Thousands of Quebecers who received COVID-19 tests over the summer have had their data compromised, the CIUSSS du Nord-De-L'île-De-Montréal confirmed in a press release. 

On September 18, a file containing 37,408 COVID-19 test results was mistakenly emailed to 59 employees of the CIUSSS du Nord-De-L'île-De-Montréal.

Due to their for their alleged misconduct in handling her harassment case late last year, a Concordia PhD student is filing two ethical complaints against five Montreal police officers.

Anna, which is the name being used in the official release and not her real name, went to the SPVM following months of harassment by a man, who she said made her feel unsafe. She claims that the officers involved ignored her, laughed at her and refused to offer her support.
