The List Of 'Canada's Top Employers' Is Out & A Lot Of Them Are In Quebec

Consider yourself lucky if you work at one of these companies!
Staff Writer

The annual list of Canada's Top 100 Employers was just released and several Quebec companies made the cut in 2021.

The list, published by Mediacorp Inc. and featured in The Globe and Mail, evaluates "which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees."

If you work at one of these companies, consider yourself blessed.

Among the companies on the list with a head office or significant presence in Quebec are ABB Inc., Bell Canada, Canadian National Railway (CN), CBC / Radio-Canada, Danone Canada, the Désjardins Group, Ivanhoé Cambridge, Laurentides Controls Ltd., Pomerleau, and the Université de Montréal.

There are plenty of others, too.

Selection is based on eight criteria, "(1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement."

"It's hard not to be impressed by what this year's winners are doing to support their employees and the community," Anthony Meehan, publisher at Mediacorp, said in a statement

The "best employers," he said, "are stepping up to [the] challenge" of the pandemic "and making a difference, both within their organizations and in the wider communities where they operate."
