This Haunted Quebec Village Makes You Endure 90 Mins Of Horror & Won’t Let You Turn Around

Even if you're too scared.
Senior Editor

Turn around now if you scare easily. The Village hanté in Drummondville, Quebec is back again for the 2020 season and it's enforcing new public health rules by making the experience even scarier. In the new concept, visitors have to endure almost 90 minutes of continuous horror to make it to the end.

And there's no turning around.

UPDATE: This event has been cancelled for the 2020 season in light of new public health rules.

The village promises "transitional spaces made up of riddles, haunted places and immersive outdoor routes" that will leave you with "no choice but to hold on until the end, otherwise we will leave you at the mercy of our wild and bloodthirsty beasts..."

The site has also ditched its family section to maximize this immersive experience, so there will be no kiddos running around and no option for a less intense route.

This year, it's all for the horror fanatics.

"Shouting, bursts, shortness of breath and palpitations will certainly be part of the game," a statement from the village assures.

There is a reward for those who survive, however.

An on-site refreshment stand, ice cream parlour, and donut shop offer treats to anyone looking for a little comfort food to eat through their tears.

"The objective of this new formula is obviously to reduce waiting times while ensuring strict compliance with current health measures," says Guy Bellehumeur, general manager of the Village québécois d'antan.

Visitors are also required to choose a time slot for their adventure when they purchase their tickets online.

"In the context of a pandemic, this will ensure that the safe number of people on site at the same time is not exceeded."

The haunted village is open Fridays and Saturdays from September 25 to October 31, as well as Sunday, October 11.

Reservable departures occur every 30 minutes beginning at 6:30 p.m. The final departure is at 10:00 p.m.

Tickets for adults are $28 on Fridays and $30 on Saturdays.
