It's safe to say that our province is not lacking in beautiful destinations to discover. Now that summer's here, it's time to check out one of the many beautiful spots that surround us. With the myriad of Quebec lakes that have crystal clear waters, you're sure to have something to see for the rest of the season.

The heat of the summer gives us all the urge to be surrounded by water and it makes for a great day or even weekend of fun, without having to travel too far. 

And, now that Quebec is letting you rent a cabin for the weekend with friends, it's a great time to discover some of the phenomenal crystal clear lakes throughout the province.

Travelling the globe, don't get us wrong.

But, as one slowly realizes how many places there are to discover in our province, you start to think of the hundreds of trips you could go in just in Quebec itself.

So with this in mind, we figured we share some of our favourite lakes to explore with you.

Lac Blue Sea

Distance from Montreal: 3 hours and 25 minutes

Known for its crystal clear waters, Lac Blue Sea is worth the three hour and 25-minute commute from Montreal.

Located north of Gatineau, its mesmerizing waters will give you the illusion of being far from home.

Lac Brome

Distance from Montreal: 1 hour and 10 minutes

This charming lake has some of the clearest waters in the province.

And, being located only an hour and a few minutes from Montreal makes it the ideal day trip destination.

Pink Lake

Distance from Montreal: 2 hours and 30 minutes

Pink Lake is one of the most unique lakes in all of Quebec. Even if it's not actually pink, the meromictic lake is truly breathtaking.

Lac Meech 

Distance from Montreal: 2 hours and 25 minutes

Located a little over two hours from Montreal, Lac Meech is one of my favourite spots in all of Quebec.

Its perfectly clear waters are sure to leave you in awe.

Lac Magog

Distance from Montreal: 1 hour and 30 minutes

This freshwater lake is one of the most outstanding bodies of water in all of Quebec.

Not only is it aesthetically beautiful but the see-through waters will keep you coming back time and time again.

Lac Aux Araignées

Distance from Montreal: 3 hours

This magnificent lake will leave you speechless. While it's definitely one of the most picturesque locations in Quebec, being able to see right through the water is the cherry on top.

Lac Superieur

Distance from Montreal: 1 hour and 30 minutes

Located in the Laurentien Mountains, this lake is one of the most well-known lakes near Montreal.

And, due to its beautiful waters, Montreal locals keep going back with every passing summer.
