A 3-Hour Road Trip From Montreal Is Worth It For The Fall Views You See From This Big Rock

And the hike to get to it is just as beautiful.

After a short three-hour road trip from Montreal, you can hike to this massive rock in Ontario, which leads to a most breathtaking fall scenery with a mix of seasonal colours and water views that take shape before your eyes.

At the Rock Dunder Nature Reserve in the Rideau Waterway Land Trust, you can access one of the highest points in the region. At 275 feet above sea level, it's an incredible spot to admire Morton Bay from high above.

Two trails are available, either the Morton Bay Loop, which is 2 kilometres with a peninsular view, or the Summit Loop, which is a climb of about 4 kilometres to observe the Rideau Waterway.

All you need to do is buy a day pass for $5 per person or pay $15 for a group of three to six hikers. You can also buy a season pass for $60, which you can get online or once you're there.

The site is accessible to visitors from sunrise to sunset from May 15 and until November 15, so you still have time to prepare for your little trip to this magical rock when the leaves start changing colours.
