Canada's Most Popular Baby Names Dropped & A Few (Basic) Newcomers Made The Top 10

The top 100 baby names in Canada for boys and girls dropped and the ranking includes a few newcomers.
Baby Center, an online parenting resource, dropped its annual list of the most popular baby names in Canada in 2023 and while a few of the more common entries have made a comeback, the list now includes a few new names.
Noah and Liam remained the top baby names for boys. However, three newcomers are joining the top 10 for the first time ever.
William ranked fifth overall, previously ranking 20th, while Benjamin also made the top 10, leaping from 11th to seventh. Levi was the final boy name to make the top 10, ranking ninth overall (previously 12th).
With a few newcomer names also come several options that tumbled out of the top 10. While William, Benjamin and Levi joined the top 10, Thomas, James and Luca were knocked out.
As for girl names — Olivia, Amelia and Emma kept their respective places in the top three. As for newcomers on the girl names list, Ellie, who rose from 16th to fourth and Mila, who climbed up from number 25 to eighth, both joined the top 10. The two new names replaced Mia and Chloe, both of which fell from ninth and tenth, respectively, to 15th and 19th overall in 2023.
