Everybody knows that you eat with your eyes first and then your stomach. And to me, one of the most beautiful foods ou there has got to be sushi. That's why when you have a platter that is as delicious as it is beautiful, there's no better feeling. When it comes to the Montreal sushi scene, everybody knows Sushi Momo.

The Montreal-staple is known not only for being pleasing to the eye, but it's also plant-based. And, after a little break, it's reopening as of July 29.

Yep, it's vegan, too!

Personally, getting my less adventurous friends to try sushi can sometimes be a struggle, but when it's vegan, it makes it that little bit easier.

But vegan or not, Sushi Momo makes some seriously amazing sushi.

Since 2014, Christian Manuel Ventura Alatorre and the team have been providing the city with a sophisticated and unique take on the traditional Japanese dish, along with other items from Japanese style cooking, like poke.

There's even a tapas menu if you go with a group.

Because when you're friends hear that you're going they'll want to tag along. But can you blame them?

It's also got gluten-sensitive menu for those that are looking for options.

And being located in the Plateau, one of Montreal's most trendy areas, the restaurant, itself does not disappoint.

It's got a rustic-bistro feel that gives a totally modern experience and pays homage to its Japanese roots.

And, of course, you can't forget a glass of sake for a total Japanese experience. They've also got wine, beer and cocktails.

But if you're looking for a more at-home type of sushi night, not to worry — there's a take-out menu, as well.

You can imagine it's reviews are as good as the pictures look.

In fact, it's got a 4.8 out of 5 on RestoMontreal.

Or, should I say 4.8 sushi rolls out of 5?

But seriously, just five isn't enough. Five trays aren't even enough.

So if you're looking for the real deal, roll on into Sushi Momo for one of the best sushi experiences in all of Montreal.
