The Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), an "association representing Canada’s private home, auto and business insurers," released its annual list of the most stolen cars in Quebec.

The list is compiled using "insurance claims data collected from nearly all automobile insurance companies in Canada," according to the association's website.

2018 Honda CR-V 4DR AWD #1 Stolen Car In Quebec

These were the most stolen vehicles in Quebec in 2020, according to the IBC:

  1. 2018 Honda CR-V, four-door, all-wheel drive

  2. 2017 Honda CR-V, four-door, all-wheel drive

  3. 2019 Honda CR-V, four-door, all-wheel drive

  4. 2018 Ford F150, four-wheel drive

  5. 2019 Lexus NX300/NX300h, four-door, all-wheel drive

  6. 2017 Toyota Highlander, four-door, four-wheel drive

  7. 2018 Honda Accord, four-door

  8. 2016 Honda Civic, four-door

  9. 2017 Lexus RX350/RX450h, four-door, all-wheel drive

  10. 2018 Honda CIVIC, four-door

"Automobile theft is much more than an insurance problem; it's an expensive social menace," the IBC writes.

"Each year, automobile theft costs Canadians close to $1 billion, including $542 million for insurers to fix or replace stolen vehicles, $250 million in police, health care and court system costs and millions more for correctional services."
