A new list reveals the top 10 Canadian cities people are Googling for home buying — and only one is in Quebec. It's not Montreal, but rather Laval. 

Laval is about a 30-minute drive from central Montreal. However, according to Centris, the median price for a single-family home in Laval was $435,000 at the end of 2020, compared to $630,000 on the Island of Montreal.

A recent report from the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers also found that while the market in Montreal continues to soar, Laval's real estate market is slowing down by 14 percent. 

The majority of the top cities Canadians are searching for 'houses in...' are in Ontario and B.C., with the most searched for being Cannington, Ontario.

Laval ranked number eight — after London, Ontario, but before Abbotsford, B.C., and Langley, B.C.
