This 'Legendary' Quebec Hike Brings You To Views That Look Like They Belong In Banff

The west might be off limits, but Quebec has plenty of spectacular views.
Senior Editor

The west might be beyond reach but adventurers looking for at least a semblance of dramatic Canadian Rockies views might consider the hike up to Quebec's own Acropole-des-Draveurs in the Parc national des Hautes‑Gorges-de-la-Rivière‑Malbaie.

The challenging hike (Sépaq says it can take between four and six hours to finish the 11.2-kilometre round-trip) has a big payoff: a sweeping (terrifying?) panorama of the steep cliffs that plunge down into the Malbaie river valley.

Before you get going, check our Responsible Travel Guide so you can be informed, be safe, be smart, and most of all, be respectful on your trip.

The trek is so difficult that Sépaq has a separate page with information for those who dare to embark.

The page includes authorized departure times, packing and clothing advice, a warning to stay on the trail, and other rules and recommendations.

The trail to the Acropole-des-Draveurs opens in May 2021. Online reservations are mandatory. Get all the details below.
