Indoor Gatherings With 50 People Max Will Soon Be Allowed In Quebec

Quebecers received even more good news Monday. National Public Health Director Dr. Horacio Arruda announced that the government is going to allow indoor gatherings in Quebec with a maximum of 50 people as of June 22. That includes performance and movie theaters, he said.
Attendees will still have to stay two metres away from other individuals in communal spaces in these venues.
In these types of spaces and when people are seated, they must stay at least 1.5 metres away from each other.
"I hope this will be welcomed as very good news by young and old," the director said.
Arruda made clear that gatherings of this size will only be allowed in public venues and spaces.
Private interior gatherings are still limited to a maximum of 10 people from three different households.
These small gatherings will be allowed in Montreal, Joliette, and L'Épiphanie as of June 22. They're allowed everywhere else as of June 15.
This announcement is just the latest in an exciting series that the government has made to give Quebecers a fun — if not quite normal — summer.
Campsites, museums, and some library services opened at the end of May and beginning of June.
Drive-in theatres have also reopened and become a bona fide trend.
At least two new drive-ins are coming to the Montreal area, with one, the largest, on Montreal Island.
Restaurants can also open their dining rooms as of June 22 outside the Montreal area, Joliette, and L'Épiphanie and June 15 in all other areas of the province.
The government hasn't made an announcement about bars yet, though.
