The Montreal Metro Is Extending Its Hours For One Night This Weekend

The Montreal metro is breaking its curfew this weekend for Nuit Blanche, courtesy of the Société de transport de Montréal. No need to race against the clock or worry about missing the last train — the metro will be running all night long so you can explore your pick of 100+ activities taking place across the city from dusk to dawn. Paratransit and bus services will also extend into the early hours of the morning.
From the evening of March 2 to the morning of March 3, trains will provide round-the-clock service for passengers. The STM is adding a touch of mystery to the night with a "mystery metro car." Decked out for Nuit Blanche, the special carriage promises onboard surprises and entertainment for unsuspecting passengers.
All-access pass
If you're only hitting one spot for Nuit Blanche, a regular ticket will do the trick. But if your plans span the entire night or the whole weekend, consider these travel options:
- Unlimited evening pass ($6): You get non-stop travel from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. You just have to activate it before midnight to enjoy access to buses, metros, and trains across Zones A, B, C, and D.
- 24-hour pass ($11): This gets you endless travel for a full day. It kicks in the moment you first use it, giving free rein over buses, metros, and trains in Zone A.
- Unlimited weekend pass ($15.25): For the ultimate freedom, this option covers you from 4 p.m. on Friday right through to 5 a.m. on Monday. It's perfect for getting you to all zones and ideal for those planning to attend a special brunch on the morning after the festivities.

While the metro or REM can efficiently transport you across the island, those looking to explore downtown Montreal for Nuit Blanche might prefer taking the bus.
Here are some direct routes to downtown Montreal festivities:
- TD Studio: Take buses 80, 129, 465, or 480. Get off at 1435 de Bleury, marked with adapted transport symbols.
- Place des Arts: Your options include buses 15, 24, 35, 80, 125, 129, 465, or 480. Disembark at 1555 Jeanne-Mance or at Maison symphonique at 1600 Saint-Urbain.
- MTELUS: Board buses 15, 55, 125, 129, or 465. Exit at the main entrance at 59 Sainte-Catherine Est.
- Gesù: For this location, use buses 80, 129, 150, 410, 427, 430, 445, or 465. Disembark at 1200 de Bleury.
- Corona Theatre: Get there by taking buses 35, 36, 71, 108, or 191. Alight at the main entrance, located at 2490 Notre-Dame Ouest.
