A new Montreal market is stitching together plus-size clothing, vintage threads and alternative fashion. Dubbed "Thiick Witch," the event is all about the inclusive side of style and set to cast its spell in May.

Mala MTL, a store that curates preowned and vintage plus-size fashion, and The Overlooked, specializing in upcycled and curated vintage Whimsigoth clothing, are joining forces following the success of two earlier pop-ups this year. Their combined inventory promises the "greatest selection of plus-size curated fashion in Montreal," including contemporary and vintage finds along with accessories.

"There's a huge demand for what we offer, since most vintage shops and popup events don't cater to plus-size folks," Sabreen of The Overlooked told MTL Blog

"[It] often leaves individuals discouraged and sad… but instead of hunting through racks hoping to find something that will fit, at Mala MTL and our Thiick Witch event, the focus is on finding something you like, as [the selection] guarantees that a lot of clothing will fit."

The two-day market is all about offering a "safe IRL shopping experience that will leave you feeling happy, fulfilled and even more stylish than you already are."

"We are working toward bringing accessibilty and affordability to our community," said Sandra of Mala MTL. "The feeling of being fashionable and on trend and sustainable for plus sizes can be so rare. We really fill the gap of fashion offered in Montreal."

Shoppers can expect to find clothing from XL to 6X at the market, alongside custom-made items, jewelry, and an array of goods from local creatives.

Personal styling services will be offered by Mélanie Chrétien and Les Deux x Stylism Privé, while Strega Vintage will present their second-hand treasures.

Those looking for a touch of mysticism can get a tarot reading on-site, or even get inked by tattoo artist Aurelie. There will also be chances to stock up on stickers and shirts from artists like Pew Pew Kid (on Sunday), and witchy finds from vintage boutique Sciences Maudites, among other vendors.

"The success of our previous popups together has made something extremely clear to us: the demand in our community for what we do is real," the event organizers wrote on social media.

Whether you're looking to refresh your wardrobe or find a unique piece that speaks to your soul, Montreal's newest plus-size market is where magic is sure to happen.
