Narcity Québec reports that a seven-year-old girl was found dead in her Laval residence on Sunday afternoon.

Service de police de Laval (SPL) spokesperson Stéphanie Beshara told the outlet that emergency services received a call at 2:30 p.m. "regarding a young girl in cardiopulmonary arrest."

When the police arrived on the scene, resuscitation procedures were performed, but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Narcity reports that the girl's body showed signs of burn marks and that seven individuals were at the scene when police arrived. 

According to Beshara's statement, a forensic team is carrying out work at the residence on Monday afternoon.
