Does your current job give you a perennial case of the Mondays? Try applying to one of these places. The Canada’s Top 100 Employers project has released its annual list of Montreal's Top Employers.

60 Montreal employers, in no particular order, made the cut based on eight categories, according to a press release.

Whether it's helping employees take time to take care or enabling them to have an impact in the community, the best employers recognize the need to put their people first.

These include: physical workplace; work atmosphere and social well-being; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance and management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

The annual competition, put on by the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, was "open to any employer with its head office in Greater Montréal," the press release states.

The 2021 list, first published in the Montreal Gazette, includes some of the world's largest and most recognizable companies, including Rio Tinto and Pfizer Canada.

But it also features smaller, more locally-focused institutions including McGill, Concordia, L'Oréal and Lowe's.

A number of this year’s winners were recognized for using their resources to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and help get their employees and customers through the crisis.

"The project has always aimed to highlight best practices of this nature, and the past year has demonstrated that these kinds of 'essential' benefits really do matter," noted Richard Yerema, managing editor of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project.

"Whether it's helping employees take time to take care or enabling them to have an impact in the community, the best employers recognize the need to put their people first."

They include CCM Hockey, which "reconfigured its manufacturing facilities to produce medical materials, [...] and donated 500,000 masks to healthcare workers;" CIUSSS West-Central Montreal, which "established a pandemic mental health hotline along with free meditation courses and wellness initiatives for employees;" and Pomerleau Inc., which "created an emergency fund for employees experiencing financial distress."
