You Can Get FREE General Jiao Chicken From This Montreal Spot On Tuesday

This year's been tough. Like curl-up-on-the-couch-with-some-Chinese-food rough. And somehow, Montreal restaurants just keep finding ways to cheers us up.
To help you get through the holidays and to bring a smile to the faces of Montrealers, the team at JIAO in Old Montreal is giving away free boxes of General Jiao chicken.

On December 22, head over JIAO's takeout counter between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. for a free box of some of the restaurant's delicious crispy fried chicken — General Jiao as they like to call it.
"It's been a rough few months on everyone, especially with the news about Christmas gatherings," says Tongue Bui, owner of JIAO. "We just wanted to help any way we could, and bring out that holiday spirit in all of us."
The decision came following Legault's announcement that Christmas was cancelled across the province.
"Honestly, I just felt people were down a lot, especially after the Christmas was cancelled type of announcement, as well as everything we're all already dealing with. So I was just wanted to turn things more positive."
Tongue told MTL Blog that the restaurant had reopened back in June with the new COVID protocols. However, the restaurant has paused all operations closed since October 1, but is opening its doors just on the 22 to give away some chicken.
"I kind of miss our clients and meeting new people. Thought it'd be nice to see everyone again for a quick hello, even if it's through a window and 2 meters apart."
