Montreal is getting a new sushi spot called Sushi Dept. Joining other sushi faves in the city, the restaurant is from the team behind another sushi classic, Ryu, as well as Ayla and Livia.

Opening on April 28, and offering plates at a reasonable price with convenient takeaway, Sushi Dept is perfect for Montreal's picnic season.

Operating as a ghost kitchen, service will be offered for takeout and delivery for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday.

The menu is jam-packed with all of your favourite sushi and maki items, as well as some super creative touches, like crispy rice with an array of toppings and super decadent poke bowls.

Your order is served in a large bento box, which is great for a picnic, that comes in a fun and vibrant shade of pink and is also recyclable, with items like desserts made in reusable mason jars.

"We believe Sushi Dept will be bringing a new and fun approach to sushi in Montreal," David Dayan, Sushi Dept owner, told MTL Blog. "This our first take away and delivery-only concept and we want to make the whole experience from ordering to receiving the food easy and convenient as well as more accessible than our other restaurants."
