This apartment-hunting season is set to be more difficult than ever — and not just because of the pandemic. Unlike in other Canadian cities, apartments in Montreal have seen average rents soar, according to a recent report by Rentals.ca.

That might be why the core of the Montreal area is losing so many people to the outer suburbs.

Then there's the fact that many Montreal neighbourhoods are undergoing a rapid transformation thanks to new development.

To help give you a sense of where the rental market stands, we've listed below six apartments currently for rent for around $1,000 per month.

This list is meant to serve as an example — a snapshot of apartments for rent right now across the city.

These listings will likely disappear once landlords find suitable tenants.
