Quebec's winter forecast has called for mild and wet conditions in the southern parts of the province and mild and snowy weather in the north.

The Old Farmer's Almanac said southern Quebec, which includes Montreal and Quebec City, will get above-average temperatures this winter.

Precipitation is expected to be above normal, but that doesn't mean a lot of snow.

Southern Quebec will have lower-than-normal snow totals because much of the season's precipitation could come down as rain-snow mixes or just rain.

The coldest parts of the season are forecast to be in December and then early and late January.

Quebec's weather will be snowiest during late November, early and late December, and early January.

If you want more details about this season, the Farmers' Almanac also put out a winter forecast recently.

Arctic air is set to bring "dangerous" wind chills in northern Quebec, while southern Quebec will get occasional thaws and cold snaps.

Blizzards and nor'easters are expected in late January and February, according to the Farmers' Almanac.
