After arriving on the South Shore this past summer, Costco rival Mayrand is set to open a new location in Laval this month.

It will be the food wholesaler's third location.

Mayrand announced its official opening date via a Facebook post on Friday.

OPENING DATE OF MAYRAND LAVAL

Laval residents will be able to rush to their new local branch starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21.

Located at 3615 autoroute Jean-Noël Lavoie (A-440), the Laval branch will be slightly smaller than the other two.

The flagship warehouse, located in the Montreal borough of Anjou, is 86,000 square feet and the location in Brossard is close to 50,000.

The Laval store covers an area of some 36,000 square feet.

But Mayrand President and CEO Mario Bélanger told Narcity Québec in August that the selection of products in Laval "will be much the same" as the other branches.

In all, more than 10,000 food products will be available for purchase by regular folk and restaurant owners, alike.

A membership is not required to enter.
