Montreal, meanwhile, is reported to have seen an increase of 22 cases, according to data released on September 1.

On Monday, Quebec Premier François Legault said that in the last two weeks, there has been an increase in cases in regions across the province and that new cases are no longer concentrated in Montreal.

He encouraged Quebecers to find their discipline after what he said was a "general relaxation" in regards to public health guidelines.
