Montreal Just Released The New COVID-19 Case Counts For Each Borough
This week marked five months since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 an official pandemic. Within, that time, we've seen some highs and lows in terms of cases, especially here in Montreal. As of 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, Montreal's COVID-19 case count has officially reached 29,364.
As the province continues to reopen, more and more changes come to rules and regulations as we enter the "new normal." The most significant being the mandated wearing of facial coverings in all indoor, public places.

This new rule led to an anti-mask protest being held in Montreal on August 8.
As the world continues to watch the situation in other regions across the globe in their efforts, it's the local stats that always hit closest to home.
In the latest report, Montreal continues to show a downward trend since July 18, when the number of new cases spiked to 100.
Women remain more affected than men, with a rate of 57.3%.
Those 80 years of age and over remain the highest demographic in terms of cases and deaths at 6,878 and 2,558, respectively.
Montrealers between 20-29 make up the second-highest demographic of cases at 4,045.
