Police Have Confirmed Martin Carpentier Murdered His Daughters

The two girls were killed by "a blunt object."
Staff Writer

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Romy and Norah Carpentier met their tragic end at the hands of their father, Martin Carpentier. The sisters, aged 6 and 11, were murdered with a "blunt object" according to Guy Lapointe, chief inspector for the SQ.

The news comes after the provincial police found the body of Martin Carpentier on Monday night. Initial reports indicate that he took his own life.

While the daughters had been hurt in the car crash, they were killed by a blunt object in use by the suspect.

An Amber alert on July 9 rang out through the province, alerting the public that the girls were missing.

According to the SQ, the tragic events unfolded after a car crash.

The SQ didn't want to speculate on why the father would kill the two girls or what led up to the double murder.
