Summer is approaching, and one thing I’m beyond excited about is park days. After a few drinks, some sunshine and a great time spent with my roommates, it’ll feel like any other normal year (kind of).

As someone who's very into the outdoors and living a healthy lifestyle, I’m very conscious of what I’m putting in my body — especially when it comes to alcohol. But at the same time, I do love the idea of a boozy refreshment after a day of activities.

Montrealers are anxiously awaiting the return of warm weather and sunshine-filled Sundays in Mount Royal park... and if you have to ask why then you're clearly not from around here. Tam-Tams — the weekly meetup of drummers, dancers, picnickers, and stoners — is a Montreal tradition for good reason.

If you've never been to Tam-Tams before or you've taken a long pandemic hiatus, don't worry. We have you covered! We've created this packing list of all the essentials you need to bring with you for a good time at Tam-Tams.

The world is filled with questions, but the one on everyone's mind right now is which generation has better taste: Gen Z's or millennials?

Zoomers have definitely been making their voices heard by letting their older cohorts, mainly millennials, know what's cool and what isn't.

If nothing else, 2020 was the year of culinary trends. Dalgona coffee, sourdough bread, pancake cereal — we've all kept ourselves nice and busy in the kitchen as we adapted to the world around us. But lately, it's fair to say there's been a bit of a universal cooking rut. After all, there’s only so much banana bread you can bake before never wanting to see another banana again.

Seeing as we've begun a brand-new year, it feels like the perfect time to introduce new meal plans into your routine — especially if you're done with skipping meals due to lack of motivation or creativity. A great way to help out with that might be to subscribe to a meal subscription service, like Goodfood.  Plus, right now, you can get 6 free meals (3 free meals in your first 2 baskets) using promo code NARCITY6.

Goodfood is one of the biggest meal subscription services in Canada today; it all started with a simple goal, to help people prepare delicious, yet healthy meals from the comfort of their own home. Now, six years later, they're a team of close to 3,000 people helping deliver monthly meals across Canada.

2020 has brought a lot of heartbreaking changes, especially for Montreal restaurants.

Such a key part of the city's culture, saying goodbye to any restaurant is always painful, but to have so many gone away before their time this year has been absolutely crushing.

If there's one good thing to come out of 2020's mostly indoor lifestyle, it's that the world is finally hopping aboard the K-drama train.

With cliffhangers in nearly every episode, swoon-worthy romance scenes, intense plot twists, and a promise of at least one love traingle (or square) per show, Korean dramas make for some of the most addictive viewing on Netflix. And don't even get us started on the scenery.

COVID-19 in Quebec has taken a significant toll on every aspect of life, from dampening Montreal's usual liveliness to forcing local businesses to shut down to impacting individuals' jobs, relationships and mental health.

Good news: you're permitted to visit your best friend if one of you lives alone in a Quebec red zone. At least twice in the last month, Premier François Legault clarified that Quebecers can visit people living alone in red zones, one at a time.

In fact, he encouraged visits, acknowledging the mental health effects that prolonged isolation can have on Quebecers, some of whom have been alone throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To enjoy the last colours of fall, what's more perfect than a walk in nature? You and your favourite person can take this super romantic stroll at the Bois-de-Liesse nature park in Pierrefonds.

Autumn in Montreal is bliss. The weather is chillier, the leaves are vibrant, and the city is in its loveliest state. But as we trek towards the long weekend, it's easy to be reminded that this year feels a little different.

Though we can't visit loved ones or gather with friends quite yet, that doesn't mean we can't have a good time. Montrealers' favourite fall activities like apple-picking, Mount-Royal hiking, experimenting in the kitchen, and coffee-shop exploring aren't off the table.

If you're like me, then your camera reel is currently filled with hundreds of photos of the stunning fall leaves all around us. Can you really blame us, though? There are tons of cool places in Montreal that simply become even more magical during this season.

We also love to take lots of fall photos of doing some of our favourite activities and going to our favourite places.
