Le Burger Week 2024 has officially wrapped up, which means burger creations from five Montreal restaurants have been crowned the best in the city. One of them was even named among the top five burgers in all of Canada — a surprising outcome given its unusual ingredients (but more on that later).

The annual food festival, which took place from September 1 to 8 this year, gives chefs across the country total freedom to craft the most mouthwatering burger masterpieces they can come up with. Then, the nation's burger lovers taste the competing dishes and vote on their favourites.

Crusty's Montreal is proving itself to be all the rage following its opening on Sherbrooke Ouest last October. Now, the comfort food eatery is expanding. After opening its doors in Laval this spring, Crusty's is taking things up a notch with a second location in the 450, where they'll be serving up some of the juiciest fried food concoctions you've ever seen.

The new resto will open Sunday, October 30, on boulevard Dagenais Ouest right off of boulevard Curé-Labelle. In celebration of its opening day, Crusty's is offering a pretty sweet (or should we say salty?) deal. The restaurant will turn your burger or sub order into a trio for free. Guests can either opt for the mac n' cheese or the fries with cheese sauce sides and a soft drink at no extra charge.

Already in its 11th edition, burger festival Le Burger Week will be back this fall with over 1,000 participating restaurants. The two-week-long festival begins on September 1 and promises to be the "largest burger event ever held in Canada," according to a press release.

Traditionally, the burger festival has centred around real meat. This year, Le Burger Week is highlighting plant-based burger creations. "Over the years, we’ve noticed a strong demand for meat alternatives, such as vegetarian and vegan burgers – so here it is! Le Burger Week, plant-based!" said co-founder Na’eem Adam in a press release.
