A Quebec pharmacy chain is taking action on energy drinks before the government does.

Familiprix announced Wednesday morning that it's removing energy drinks from all 455 of its affiliated pharmacy locations across Quebec and New Brunswick, effective immediately. The chain says the products will stay off shelves until public authorities establish clearer access guidelines.

Starting on Monday, March 22, all eligible citizens can register to get their first COVID-19 vaccine dose at certain Montreal pharmacies.

Health Minister Christian Dubé announced the plan to allow pharmacies to administer vaccine doses in the first week of March, with an aim to "intensify" the vaccination campaign and to give people more options when registering to get their first dose.

As of Monday, March 15, eligible residents can make vaccine dose appointments at Montreal pharmacies.

According to a March 2 press release from the Ministry of Health and Social Services, around 350 pharmacies are participating in this first phase of vaccine deployment.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé announced that pharmacies in Montreal will be able to administer COVID-19 vaccine doses. 

350 pharmacies on Montreal Island will take appointments starting on March 15 but "not before," stressed Dubé. As of March 2, vaccine dose appointments are open to people aged 70 and up in the Montreal region.
