Montreal is a hotbed of ableism, especially when it comes to nightlife, says Alicia-Ann Pauld.

"In Montreal, one of the things that is most inaccessible, in my opinion, is nightlife," said the 23-year-old Concordia University student. "Things like bars, nightclubs, strip clubs, they are just so inaccessible for people with reduced mobility."

Summer in Montreal is officially back on! MURAL Festival just announced that it will be returning and will include "a whole lineup of in-person events."

Back in July, a Montreal Black Lives Matter mural popped up on Sainte-Catherine between the streets of Saint-Andre and Saint-Hubert, with a message being heard all across the world: "La vie des noir.e.s compte."

Chef Christian Manuel Ventura Alatorre says he was lucky to have gotten his first job at a Japanese restaurant — having no culinary experience, he took in as much knowledge as he could and eventually opened Sushi Momo, a renowned Montreal vegan sushi spot on Rue Saint-Denis.
