Montreal bike paths are truly like no other. It's not surprising that we're considered one of the best cities for biking in the world. The city is home to over 500 kilometres of biking lanes — almost twice the amount of Copenhagen, the unofficial biking capital. And, what makes our bike paths even better is that they offer some incredible views.
Biking offers a great way to get around that eco-friendly, good for your health and helps to see the city in new and exciting ways.
In fact, biking is such an important part of our life that the city started BIXI, a bike-sharing system that has over 6,200 bikes and 540 stations throughout Montreal, Longueuil and Westmount.
There's even a biking festival — because we have to combine our love of biking and our love of festivals.
Now that the summer weather is finally here, it's a great time to get back out into the city and explore.

Lachine Canal Bike Path
Starting with one of the most popular bike paths, the Lachine Canal runs 15 kilometres from Old Montreal to Atwater Market. You'll gaze upon architecture, the water and one of the best views on the city skyline.
René Lévesque Park
If you're still in the mood to keep riding at the end of the Lachine Canal, ride through René Lévesque Park. Not only will you get beautiful sights of the water, but you'll see interesting sculptures and historical sites, too.
Parc Jean-Drapeau Bike Path
Not only will you get to head to one of the city's favourite parks, but you'll also get a pretty sweet view of the city.
You have two options when it comes to this path: either start off right in the park at Station Jean-Drapeau or start your ride in Old Montreal and make your way over de la Concorde Bridge.
Mount Royal
The very mountain after which we're named, Mount Royal is one of the best places in the city for biking. The park, itself, is so serene and the view at the top makes you feel a sense of calm as you overlook our bustling city.
Berges Ouest Bike Path
The Berges Ouest Bike Path is perfect for those looking for adventure. It's about 20 kilometres long, taking you through Lachine, Verdun and La Salle.
The best part is riding next to the wild Lachine Rapids to help give you that extra adrenaline.
Îles-de-Boucherville Park
For those looking to get the most out of their day of riding, check out Îles-de-Boucherville Park, where you'll find 21 kilometres of paths, in three different loops on four islands.

Maisonneuve Bike Path
Seeing the best of downtown, the Maisonneuve Bike Path is great to feel like a tourist in your own city.
