While Canada is rich in culture, history and tradition, it appears as if it's rich with, well… money, too. The wealthiest cities in the world were recently ranked and turns out Canada's got money, honey.

Henley & Partners, an investment migration consultancy, dropped its annual ranking of the Wealthiest Cities in the World for 2024, and two Canadian destinations managed to make the cut.

In collaboration with New World Health, an independent wealth research firm that tracks the movements of over 150,000 high-net-worth individuals in its in-house database, they compiled a list of the top 50 cities for millionaires and while nowhere in Quebec made the cut (womp womp) it turns out Toronto and Vancouver are rolling in dough.

According to Henley & Partners, New York City topped the list with nearly 350,000 millionaires, 744 centi-millionaires and 60 billionaires.

The Bay Area ranked second, with Tokyo, Singapore and London making up the remainder of the top five of the wealthiest cities in the world. But where does Canada come in?

Toronto is the first Canadian city to make an appearance on the list, and early on, too. The Ontario capital ranked 13th overall with 106,300 millionaires, 195 centi-millionaires and 18 billionaires (whose contact info we would love immediately, btw).

Vancouver also made the cut — ranking 31st overall. The West Coast destination has approximately 41,000 millionaires, 80 centi-millionaires and a total of 10 billionaires.

Wondering who else made the list? Here are the top 10 richest cities in the world, per Henley & Partners:

  1. New York City
  2. The Bay Area
  3. Tokyo
  4. Singapore
  5. London
  6. Los Angeles
  7. Paris & Île-de-France
  8. Sydney
  9. Hong Kong
  10. Beijing
