The best hotels in Canada for 2024 have been revealed and Montreal is completely MIA

We're as confused as you are. 😵💫

Canada's top hotels for 2024 have officially been ranked, revealing the ultimate destinations for luxury, comfort and unforgettable stays across the country — but apparently, no Montreal hotels were worthy of making the cut.

The ranking comes from Condé Nast Traveller's 2024 Readers' Choice Awards, which analyzed votes from seasoned travellers from the U.K., and it looks like Brits are giving Montreal a pass on their visits to Canada this year.

Taking the number one spot among the best hotels in Canada this year is 1 Hotel Toronto, scoring an impressive satisfaction rating of 99.13%. In fact, Ontario dominated the list, claiming five out of the ten spots — with Toronto snagging the top three. B.C. also made a strong showing, with one spot in Victoria and three in Vancouver securing spots in the top ten.

Meanwhile, Quebec was the only other province making an appearance with a measly one hotel on the list — Auberge Saint-Antoine in Quebec City.

The list was compiled based on thousands of votes from U.K.-based Condé Nast Traveller readers, who weighed in on their favourite hotels to stay at when travelling to Canada. So, if you're planning a cross-country trip and are wondering where to stay, these swanky hotels are worth considering.

Here are the best hotels in Canada for 2024, according to Condé Nast Traveller readers:

  1. 1 Hotel Toronto, Toronto, ON
  2. The Hazelton Hotel, Toronto, ON
  3. Fairmont Royal York, Toronto, ON
  4. The Royal Hotel, Picton, ON
  5. Oak Bay Beach Hotel, Victoria, BC
  6. Auberge Saint-Antoine, Quebec City, QC
  7. The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver, BC
  8. Shangri-La Toronto, Toronto, ON
  9. Fairmont Pacific Rim, Vancouver, BC
  10. JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, Vancouver, BC

With this ranking, it's clear that Toronto is leading the way when it comes to Canada's best hotels — and that Montreal has some serious catching up to do. Whether you're after an urban escape or a cozy winter retreat, these top spots have something special to offer. So, which one will you be booking next?
