A huge book sale is coming to Westmount this month with prices between $1 and $5
Stock up for reading-in-the-park season! 📚☀️

People browse the selection at a former Friends of the Library book sale.
Calling all Montreal bookworms! If you're looking to restock your bookshelf without spending a pretty penny, you'll want to keep the Westmount Public Library's upcoming used book sale on your radar.
Organized by Friends of the Library in collaboration with library staff, the two-day event promises to offer books, DVDs, Blu-rays, and CDs — most of which are set to be sold for between $1 and $5. That said, you can also expect to find some higher-priced vintage and antiquarian books.
All proceeds go toward improving the library's collections and services.
Lora Baiocco, the library's interim assistant director, told MTL Blog there will be books for all ages available in English and French as well as a small selection in other languages. While the books are second hand, Baiocco said they are all in good condition.
"We don’t have a count of the books, but the tables of books fill the whole concert hall of Victoria Hall," Baiocco said via Facebook messenger. "We have books on many topics — fiction and non-fiction — and tables are identified with signage to show topics."
Friends of the Library holds book sales twice a year, but this next one is planned for April 13 and 14. On both days, it is scheduled to take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Victoria Hall, a community centre located on the west side of Westmount Park.
The sale is open to everyone — not just members of the Westmount or Montreal libraries.
