You Can Finally Get Phone Service In All 68 Montreal Metro Stations!

And here's how much it cost for the STM to make that happen.
Contributing Writer

If you frequent the Montreal metro almost every day, or even if you only do every so often, you're going to be excited about the STM's recent announcement

Metro stations Jolicoeur, Monk and Angrignon now officially have a 4G LTE mobile network.

This means your phone will now have signal in "all 68 stations and 71 km of tunnels that make up the Montréal metro."

So, you won't have to worry about your podcast cutting out as you approach Angrignon station anymore.

The STM's mobile network project cost nearly $50 million and was done with the help of Bell, Rogers, TELUS and Videotron.

In the press release, we learn that this project "provided the STM with Canada's largest indoor digital network and the longest underground wireless network in the country."

Definitely something to brag to your Toronto friends about.

The STM says it prides itself that all of this was done "with minimal impact on STM commuters and did not require full or partial closures of any stations or entry points, nor did it cause any disruptions to passenger travel."*
