All Of Quebec Will Be A Green Zone Starting Next Week

That means even more relaxed health rules!
Staff Writer

All regions in Quebec, including Montreal, will be a green zone as of June 28, Premier François Legault announced at a press conference on Tuesday.

As of Monday, we'll be able to have more people at restaurants and see more of our friends in private gatherings, among other relaxed measures.

What can I do in the green zone?

"From next Friday, those who receive their two doses will be allowed to gather without a mask," the premier confirmed.

Festivals will be able to welcome up to 3,500 people.

Private indoor gatherings of up to 10 people will be allowed and outdoor gatherings of up to 20 people will be allowed.

"Monday, we'll go from small parties to medium parties!" Legault said.

For bars and restaurants, 20 people per table can be seated on an outdoor terrasse starting on June 28. Inside, the limit is 10 people per table.

You must remain seated at all times. Singing and dancing are still prohibited.

How are vaccinations going in Quebec?

The news of the move to the green zone comes as the number of new infections continues to decrease.

On June 22, Quebec recorded fewer than 100 new COVID-19 cases.

A total of 7,491,684 vaccine doses have gone to Quebecers as of the same date.

Legault underlined that getting Quebecers their second doses will be the "big mission" for the summer.

He noted, however, that "we still have work to do to reach our vaccine target for those under 40."

He concluded with a call for Quebecers "to get vaccinated as soon as possible, especially those in Montreal and Laval."
