A new survey by Montreal marketing firm Leger found that three out of four Quebecers — 74% — support the government's night-time curfew in Quebec.

Fewer — 57% of Quebecers surveyed — believed curfew is "an effective way to reduce the spread of the virus," while 32% doubted the curfew's effectiveness.

74% Quebec respondents who support the curfew

Quebecers in the 55 and above age group responded most enthusiastically, with 91% stating they are in favour of the government's coronavirus curfew.

In the rest of Canada, 65% of respondents said they would support a curfew in their own region if public health officials recommended it.

The same survey questioned Canadians on their intention to get vaccinated for COVID-19.

Forty-seven percent of Quebecers said they intended to take the first vaccine available, while 28% said they wanted to wait for other vaccines to become available for public use.

Overall, 69% of Quebec respondents said they were "satisfied" with Premier François Legault's handling of the coronavirus.

Leger conducted the web survey with a representative sample of 1,516 Canadians and 1,003 Americans over the age of 18.

Data collection took place between January 15 and January 17.
