The SPVM has a female motorcycle officer for the first time in its history.

Monelle Hébert successfully completed a demanding selection process that only about 30% of applicants pass to land the job, according to a May 12 news release.

“On behalf of everyone at the Service, we salute Constable Hébert for this historic achievement. Congratulations!” stated the SPVM.

Hébert perfected her high-speed driving skills through an advanced rider training program and a series of tests that have prepared her to handle an almost 600-pound motorcycle.

Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante congratulated Hébert on her achievement by tweeting out a motorcycle emoji and a flexed bicep emoji.
