Further west, from Mont-Tremblant to part of Outaouais north of Gatineau, where warnings are in effect, the federal weather agency is reminding residents that severe "storms can produce tornadoes."

The Weather Network's forecast for Montreal shows an 80% chance of precipitation with a "feels like" temperature of 26 at 5 p.m.

Environment Canada explains that "severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall."
