La Ronde Is Hosting A Huge Fireworks Show To Thank Essential Workers This Summer

Finally some good news.
Senior Editor

Looks like we're going to have to wait until 2022 to experience the full glory of Montreal's summer season, but at least one ultra-popular event is coming back this year: L’International des Feux Loto-Québec — aka the La Ronde fireworks show.

The usual international competition will be replaced with a single 30-minute event honouring essential workers, the Montreal amusement park explained in a press release.

The show will take place on Labour Day weekend, pending public health approval.

"La Ronde is proud to collaborate with Loto-Québec and to invite spectators to this event that will once again light up the Montreal sky," La Ronde President Sophie Emond said in the release.

"This pyromusical show will highlight the tireless work of essential workers who have been on the front lines for over a year."

There are plans for the regular competition to return in 2022.
