A Huge Night Maze Is Opening Outside Montreal With 8 km Of Paths To Really Turn You Around
Spooky adventures are popping up all over the province. This summer and fall, thrill-seekers need only travel an hour north of Montreal to find yet another labyrinth carved into the farmlands of Quebec — and this one has over eight kilometres of misleading paths. Le Grand Labyrinthe de Lanaudière at Ferme Guy Rivest opened for the season on July 18, but it's levelling up on August 8, when the night maze begins.
The evening event takes place only one day per month until October, when the cornfield is decked out in the run-up to Halloween.

This year, it's also taking shape under the theme "tales and legends," though specific details are under wraps — you'll have to see for yourself.
And despite its size, the maze isn't designed to scare the living daylights out of those who enter.
Instead, it's billed as a family event perfect "for friends looking for adventure."
If the experience is too overwhelming, trapped guests can opt to take two "emergency exits" along the route.
Otherwise, the maze takes about an hour to complete.
The farm is also taking steps to minimize infection risk.
It's enforcing a capacity limit and encouraging maze-goers to purchase their tickets online to ensure their entry.
Visitors will also find markers in the waiting area to regulate social distancing, as well as hand-washing and sanitizing stations throughout the site.
Inside the maze, paths are more than two metres wide, so groups can safely pass each other.
Anyone looking for a more traditional end-of-summer activity can also opt to visit in the daylight.
The daytime experience runs every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through August. The maze is closed Mondays and Tuesdays in September and October, except for September 7 and October 12.
