Some reports say hundreds, while others say thousands — either way, a huge group of protesters marched and drove through the streets of Montreal on Saturday in support of Palestine, as violence continued to escalate in Palestine and Israel.
According to Montreal police, demonstrators reached the area surrounding the Israeli consulate in Westmount around 1 p.m. before heading toward Dorchester Square.
People waved Palestinian flags and chanted "Free, Free Palestine."
The SPVM said the protesters were mostly peaceful. One person was arrested.
Demonstrations were also held in other major cities around the world on May 15, according to CTV News.
