A 19-Year-Old Found Wounded On A Montreal Street In The Middle Of The Night Has Died

This is the 14th homicide in Montreal this year.

A 19-year-old found wounded on a street in Ahuntsic-Cartierville at around 12:30 a.m. has passed away as a result of his injuries, according to Montreal police spokesperson Julien Lévesque.

Earlier Monday morning, SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils explained that an 18-year-old who later walked into a hospital was identified as the individual responsible for the 19-year-old's injuries.

14 Homicides in Montreal in 2020

Chèvrefils said that investigators suspected that a conflict erupted between the two men, but its reasons were unknown.

The SPVM's major crimes unit has taken over the investigation following the man's death.

Lévesque said this is the 14th homicide in the SPVM's jurisdiction in 2020.
