One of the city's most popular summer hangout spots, Verdun Beach, opened for the season on Thursday, July 2.

This summer, the beach has several new rules in place to ensure social distancing.

Access to the site will be limited to 80 people at the same time and a rotation will take place every 45 minutes.

The site is now limited to 80 people at a time and "there will be a rotation every 45 minutes" to let new visitors in, according to a June statement from the City of Montreal.

Moreover, the city's website states that "swimmers must arrive at the beach already dressed in their bathing suits."

Verdun Beach is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day though could be closed before or after a storm.
