The hiring spree comes as the company prepares for what it calls the "home improvement industry's busiest season."

"Over the last year, we have seen a great deal of interest in home improvement among Canadians," Lowe's Canada Senior Vice President of Human Resources Marc Macdonald said in a statement.

"More than ever, our customers are counting on us to help them make their home comfortable and safe, and our store associates play a key role in supporting them throughout their projects."

The press release indicates that a wide variety of store jobs will be available. Candidates of any experience level are invited to apply.

Lowe's plans on holding a number of virtual and in-person hiring events, the first of which is on February 3 and 4.

Potential applicants can book a time slot for an interview at a hiring event online.
